Ancestor money has different names including ghost money, spirit money, Joss paper, hell notes (mis-translation), heaven notes etc.
Ancestor money looks kind of like toy money. You can tell it’s not “real” but it still has the elements of spendable currency. I am new to the concept of ancestor money. I like the idea of providing something of benefit to my ancestors. The money has a variety of appearances and some of them even look similar to actual US currency. You are given a fair number of bills. When I burned the notes, I didn’t ask my ancestors for anything – I just burned the notes in gratitude. The notes burned well and left only ash.
